We’ve reimagined the delivery of Safe and Equal’s flagship primary prevention training Prevention in Practice. To provide more flexible and effective training, the program has been divided into two new, distinct packages: Prevention Foundations and Prevention Programs.
Our Courses

Small Steps: Bystander Action for Equality
This four-hour course is for anyone ready to become an active bystander. Get the confidence and practical tools to effectively challenging sexist attitudes in your professional and personal life.

Unpacking Resistance
This one-day training helps you manage interpersonal pushback in primary prevention work. The course provides practical skills to turn resistance into a catalyst for change, using realworld examples and role-play to build confidence in navigating difficult conversations.

Responding to Disclosures in Prevention
This three-hour training will equip you to confidently support colleagues who disclose violence. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics and indicators of violence, and develop effective response strategies. The training will explore different ways to build safety and support within the design and delivery of prevention activities.

Organisational Resistance: Advancing Practice
This interactive one-day training is designed to advance your understanding and application of strategies and tools to build organisational support and commitment for social change addressing the drivers of family and gender-based violence, and proactively plan for and manage resistance to this change.

Prevention Foundations
This four-hour training provides the foundational knowledge and skills of the drivers, evidence-base and frameworks for primary prevention practice.

Prevention Programs
This five-hour training is for professionals with foundational knowledge who are ready to lead the design and implementation of primary prevention programs within organisations and communities, with the goal of fostering a more equitable and safer world.
Prevention Foundations eLearn
This self-paced eLearn builds your foundational knowledge of primary prevention and the drivers of gender-based violence. If you are curious about primary prevention and social change, this is a great place to start your learning journey.

PiP Connect
PiP Connect is Safe and Equal’s ongoing, monthly drop-in space for primary prevention practitioners to come together over lunch, share insights and build relationships in an online environment. If you want to connect with other PiP members, share ideas and hear what others are up to – join us! It is an informal drop-in space, so join when you can and head off as you need to.
