Key settings for
prevention
Violence against women and family violence are complex social problems that can only be addressed through long-term, large-scale efforts that reach the maximum number of people in sustained and meaningful ways.
This is why primary prevention initiatives target the whole population. They’re delivered in the places where people live, work, learn, socialise and play. Priority settings for primary prevention activities include workplaces, schools, universities, sport and recreation clubs, public spaces, the media, and health and community services.
