Organisational Resistance: Advancing Practice

DETAILS

This interactive one-day training is designed to advance practitioners’ understanding and application of strategies and tools to build organisational support and commitment for social change addressing the drivers of family and gender-based violence, and proactively plan for and manage institutional resistance to this change.
The places we learn, work and play hold great importance in each of our lives. Whole-of-setting primary prevention work is challenging and essential for progressive social change. Progress does not always come easily and is often met with pushback, silence or watering down of prevention initiatives.

This training helps you plan for and respond to the organisational resistance.  Providing an understanding of what institutional resistance is, its drivers and how it manifests, as well as practical tools and practice to share with your peers, you will leave refreshed and ready to build momentum and commitment in your organisation.  From building the case for change, through to identifying and understanding stakeholder influence and motivation, to the internal and external levers for change, this training provides practical and meaningful tactics to plan for, respond to and monitor organisational resistance.

This training is designed to strengthen practitioners’ suite of tools and strategies, with opportunities for peer learning, exploring examples through case studies, and reflective practice to strengthen our collective efficacy leading social change initiatives in the very organisations where we work, learn, connect and play.
