DETAILS

Gain the foundational knowledge of family violence to support you in your work. Understand the key considerations for responding to disclosures of family violence within prevention programs to support you in your work.

This three-hour virtual interactive training will prepare you to recognise indicators of family violence, skills to provide a safe, simple and sensitive response to a disclosure from an adult experiencing family violence.

Your response to a disclosure of family or gender-based violence can support someone on their journey to safety.

We connect with a wide range of people in our prevention programs every day, and can open the door to conversations around family and gender-based violence and social change.

Opening conversations in non-judgmental and responsive environments, often creates a space where people feel comfortable to disclose an experience of family and gender-based violence. All people that have experienced violence, deserve to be heard, respected and supported.

It can feel overwhelming to receive disclosures of violence and not have the skills and practice in place to support someone.

Learn how to support and respond to disclosures within your work, by building your understanding and skills required to recognise the dynamics and indicators of violence, and respond effectively to disclosures. The training will explore different ways to build safety and support within the design and delivery of prevention activities.

We can all take meaningful steps to support victim survivors.
