DETAILS

Building a world beyond family and gender-based violence requires skills and supported workers, with the ability to design and deliver initiatives in the spaces where we live, learn, work and play.

The Prevention Programs training package is designed to equip you with the skills to turn your understanding of the evidence of primary prevention into tangible, transformative change. It's for professionals who are ready to build on their foundational knowledge and lead the charge in designing, implementing and evaluating programs that bring communities and organisations together to prevent violence before it begins.

This training will equip you with knowledge and skills to design and implement programs for the primary prevention of family and gender-based violence with an intersectional lens, ensuring that our efforts reflect the diversity and unique strengths of all people and are driven by effective and equitable stakeholder partnerships.

By participating in this 5-hour virtual training, you will gain the ability to lead programs that spark conversations and empower others to join the journey towards a better future. This is more than a professional development course; it's a way to deepen your impact and contribute to a world where safety and equality are a reality for everyone.

What you will learn:

  • Build understanding key settings and strategies for primary prevention of family and gender-based violence prevention
  • Develop skills to design and deliver prevention programs with embedded intersectional practice
  • Increase ability to work effectively with stakeholders and advisory groups
  • Build understanding of best practice evaluation and monitoring tools and approaches

This package is based on Day 2 of Prevention in Practice training. Prevention in Practice has now been separated into two distinct packages, Prevention Foundations and Prevention Programs.
