Who we are

DV Vic and DVRCV have united to form Safe and Equal, combining over thirty years of experience in advocacy and innovation for change in the family violence sector. Connecting strength, capacity, and resources for greater impact, Safe and Equal is the peak body for Victoria’s specialist family violence services supporting victim survivors.

Safe and Equal works with practitioners and leaders to bring grassroots issues into the public policy arena, coordinate and participate in advocacy and action to reform policy and improve the service system, and scale up and embed practice development and innovation across the continuum from primary prevention to recovery.

Training and
Professional development

We deliver a range of training courses to further your knowledge in preventing and responding to family violence. We also run events and leadership programs to help you connect with others in the sector and build your career.

Prevention in Practice - Virtual

Prevention in Practice is an interactive virtual course, based on recognised industry standards, providing the foundational knowledge and skills for prevention practitioners who are new to the sector. It includes a comprehensive introduction to prevention program design, from development to successful implementation.

Training + Prevention

MARAM - Brief and Intermediate - Virtual

This training is suitable for professionals whose purpose of intervention is linked to family violence but not directly focused on family violence. You may be engaging with people in crisis situations, or at high risk of experiencing or using family violence. This training focuses on working with victim survivors.

Training + MARAM + Foundational Knowledge

Case Notes, Family Violence and the Law

With the rapidly-changing family violence sector and new legislation, it’s never been a better time to learn about case notes or to have a refresher. In this full-day training, you will learn best practices for the structure, style and language of case notes, and develop your knowledge about how to respond to subpoenas, appearing as a witness in court, privacy and legal issues.
