This training is suitable for professionals whose purpose of intervention is linked to family violence but not directly focused on family violence.
Training eligibility criteria:
This training is available to any professional who is interested in the course. You might be a practitioner based outside of Victoria, or a student looking to upskill before employment.

These modules will be delivered to professionals from a variety of backgrounds and are therefore not tailored to any specific workforce. 

Learning Outcomes:
  • Engage effectively with those accessing services to enable implementation of the MARAM Framework at the level of intermediate risk assessment and management.
  • Identify and assess family violence risk at an intermediate level utilising the MARAM Framework
  • Manage risk and prioritise the safety of child victim survivors and adult victim survivors of family violence utilising the MARAM Framework, including intermediate risk management responsibilities
  • Provide effective services informed by the MARAM Framework
Please note that this training will focus specifically on the Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management (MARAM) Framework as it applies to the Victorian service system for identifying, assessing and managing family violence risk. This training will not cover legislative frameworks from other states and territories.

To participate in this virtual course you will need:
  • Access to a laptop or desktop computer with headphones/speakers and ideally with a camera.
  • Reliable internet connection.
  • Zoom downloaded onto your computer, you can download here.
  • Google Chrome as your web browser, or Safari for MAC users.
  • Access to your email - you will receive an email invitation to Canvas, the training platform used to deliver the training.
  • Headphones/headset/speakers so that you can hear the presentation. 
 
The training is delivered exclusively through Canvas.
 
Please log in to Canvas and ensure you make a note of your login details as soon as you receive your email invitation. We recommend noting your training times along with the Canvas URL and your login details in your calendar. Please note that sessions will not be recorded/made available outside of the session times.


Prerequisites:
Participants enrolled must complete an e-learn module and read the MARAM framework before attending training. Details on how to access this prerequisite will be given on enrolment.

You may be engaging with people in crisis situations, or at high risk of experiencing or using family violence. This training focuses on working with victim survivors.
