Prevention Foundations
DETAILS
This training provides the foundational knowledge and skills of the drivers, evidence-base and frameworks for primary prevention practice.
Primary prevention of family and gender-based violence is a shared commitment to building communities where everyone feels safe and respected.
Primary prevention requires an evidence-based approach to effectively dismantle and transform the oppressive systems that drive gender-based violence. We can feel unsure how to make change in our social and professional lives, this training will be crucial to reshaping gendered norms and behaviours towards a culture that is built on care and respect.
Prevention Foundations is the first step in this journey, equipping you with the essential knowledge to make a tangible impact in your primary prevention career.
Whether your role is to lead prevention programs or to champion them in spaces where you work, socialise or play sport, you'll learn the core principles of primary prevention, what drives gendered violence and the essential actions we can each take to contribute to a powerful, collective movement for change.
This course is delivered online in two 2-hour sessions over one day, providing a space for practitioners to learn, connect with and bolster their professional toolkits to promote equality, safety and respect. Our Prevention Foundations training is designed to build your skills and knowledge, grow your professional network and empower you to drive meaningful change.
