The Second Action Plan 2027-2032 contributes to the Federal Government’s National Plan to End Violence against Women and Children 2022-2032. Safe and Equal’s submission recognises to address the scope and scale of the family violence crisis requires significant, enduring and coordinated action and investment are required across the country.
Ending gender-based and family violence requires dedicated national funding across the entire continuum, investment in critical adjacent sectors in victim survivor safety and recovery, focus on children and young people and robust governance.
These are underpinned by four key pillars that must remain foundational to the Second Action Plan:
- An intersectional feminist framework
- Cultural safety, equity and access
- Accountability for people who use family violence
- The critical role of specialisation
