2026-27 Federal Budget Submission

To achieve a world where everyone is safe, respected and thriving, living free from family and gender-based violence, the Victorian Government must invest in ongoing, long-term funding for primary prevention initiatives, early intervention, specialist family violence response services and programs that support recovery in the 2026-2027 Victorian State Budget. 

The current housing crisis has a significant impact on Safe and Equal’s members and victim survivors of family violence across the state, with some specific challenges experienced in regional and rural areas.

Safe and Equal welcomes this opportunity to inform the Victim of Crime Commissioner’s review of the Victims’ Charter Act 2006.
