Djirra and Safe and Equal established a strategic partnership in 2022 with the aim to support mutual capability building and to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people experiencing family violence. In 2025, Elizabeth Morgan House Aboriginal Women’s Services joined the partnership.
Through this video, hear from Skye Gooch (Djirra), Kalimna Forde (Elizabeth Morgan House), Lisa Levis (Safe and Equal) and Anna Wark (Djirra) on taking a partnership approach to create conditions for equitable relationships.

It is crucial that non-Aboriginal family violence services uphold Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s rights to self-determination, choice, and safety.
